The eruption that started on 10 Febraury at 10:50 local time continues.
The volcanic tremor has been relatively stable over the past 24 hours. The seismic station records elevated tremor at 03:00 local time associated with the arrival of heavy rain and storm.
A precise mapping of the lava flow on 10 February from satellite data shows a greater extension of the flows than previously estimated, with a lava field on the upper part of the terminal cone and an arm of flow which flowed towards the south.
The most upstream and most southerly flows were certainly only active during the first hours of the eruption. Lava flows continue to be active on the eastern flank that reached 1,400 m altitude.
OVPF reported that the highest cracks in altitude opened in the same sector as the cracks of the eruptions on 18 February and 11 June 2019.
This localization shows that the dike which fed this eruption has taken up in depth a "path" already opened during previous eruptions, explaining the speed that the magma took to reach the surface.
