Popocatépetl volcano (Mexico): another stronger-than-usual explosion
Another stronger-than-usual explosion occurred at the volcano at 11:45 local time today. A plume of ash rose to an altitude of 21,000 ft (6,400 m) and drifted SW.
The seismic network recorded 334 minutes of low-to-medium internal tremor including volcano-tectonic earthquake with magnitude M 1.7 at 7.5 km depth.
