Rincon de la Vieja volcano (Costa Rica) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 2 September-8 September 2020 (Continuing Activity)
OVSICORI-UNA reported that on 3 September geologists observed Rincón de la Vieja from the summit and noted that the acid lake in the main crater had a low water level, was actively convecting, and exhibited strong gas emissions. OVSICORI-UNA reported continuing phreatic activity at Rincón de la Vieja during 19 August-1 September. Phreatic explosions were recorded almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day, though weather conditions often prevented visual confirmation of emissions.
