Background
Bangum is a Pleistocene stratovolcano dissected to much the same stage as the Garbuna volcanoes (Johnson and Blake 1972; Johnson 1990, pers. comm.). IAVCEI lists a thermal area, but gives a coordinate that appears to be at the west foot of Welcker volcano. Johnson and Blake note no thermal areas on Bangum.---
