Background
The Pinzón Island shield volcano is covered with lava flows originating from a crater SW of the summit. The most prominent feature is a small steep-walled 1-km-wide caldera NW of the summit. Potassium-Argon dates range from 1.09 to 0.93 million years ago (Cox 1983).---
