On 26 June at 14:30 local time Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Buenos Aires recorded relatively strong explosion from the active crater with near-constant ash emissions that reached 29,000 ft (8,800 m) altitude and drifted southeast, east and northeast.
The Instituto Geofísico del Perú (IGP) recorded small to moderate explosions at regular intervals 12 per day and 400 volcano-tectonic earthquakes associated with magma rising during 22-28 Jun 2020.
Thermal anomaly associated with lava at the summit crater was observed in satellite images.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 12 km distance from the crater.
