Sakurajima volcano (Kyushu, Japan): weekly volcanic activity report 18-22 Nov 2019

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recorded at the Minamidake summit crater 10 eruptions and 8 explosions detected by the seismic network and few volcanic earthquakes and tremor associated with the eruption during the period 18-22 November 2019. Blocks were ejected as far as 1 km away.
The volcanic plume reached 12,400 ft (3,800 m) altitude.
Sakurajima has a large amount of volcanic gas (sulfur dioxide), on 21 November 2800 tons of volcanic gas was released.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 1 km distance from the crater.
