Suwanosejima volcano (Ryukyu Islands, Japan): vulcanian activity continues with no significant changes

According to the local observatory, vulcanian-type explosion sent an ash column to 2,7 km height. Blocks were ejected 500 meters distance from the Ontake summit crater.
The volcanic-seismic tremor accompanied the explosive activity at the volcano.
Volcanic ash is dispersed towards the south-southwest and caused light-to-moderate ashfall 2 km from the crater.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs could affect an area of about 2 km distance from the main crater.
