The degassing activity of the volcano continues at elevated levels as strong and intense sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions reached to a 14326 tonnes/day! yesterday.
The latest value exceeded almost 5 times SO2 average levels (3000 tonnes/day) over the past two months.
PHIVOLCS's surveillance cameras observed gas-steam plumes rising from the crater lake which rose to an altitude of 8,200 ft (2,500 m).
The Taal Volcano Network recorded only 10 volcanic earthquakes during t24 hours between 28-29 June.
Ground deformation parameters from electronic tilt, continuous GPS and InSAR monitoring continue to record a very slow and steady inflation and expansion of the Taal region that began after the January 2020 eruption.
