Tacora is the northernmost volcano in Chile and located near the Bolivian border. It is a roughly conical andesitic twin volcano tiogether with Chupiquiña volcano to the north. Reported eruptions in 1930 and 1937 could not be verified by independent sources. There are many sulfur mines in the saddle between Tacora and Chupiquiña, and hot springs are located on the eastern side of Tacora.
