Yasur volcano (Tanna Island, Vanuatu): activity has decreased; Volcanic Alert Level remains at 2

After increased activity of the volcano in March 2020, the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geohazards Department (VMGD) reported that the seismic station records decreased activity in the level of major unrest state. The Volcanic Alert Level remains at 2.
Emissions of gas and steam plumes with minor ash content occurred and can be seen rising from the crater. Some explosions remains intensified and volcanic projectiles or bombs may fall in and/or around the summit crater.
The warning bulletin states that volcanic gases, ash and volcanic bombs could affect an area of about 600 m distance from the eruptive vents. The danger zone for life safety is limited in the Danger Zone A.
