Light magnitude 4.7 earthquake 72 km southwest of Sumbawa Besar, Indonesia

Just 13 minutes ago, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Sumbawa Besar, ID.17.Sumbawa (undefined), West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded early morning on Sunday 27 December 2020 at 2:23 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.7 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
