Just 16 minutes ago, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Naha, Naha Shi, Okinawa, Japan. The tremor was recorded late at night on Monday 24 May 2021 at 10:41 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.

The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which listed it as a magnitude 4.7 earthquake as well.
