Moderate 4.7 quake hits near Sargodha, Sargodha District, Punjab, Pakistan

Just 9 minutes ago, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Sargodha, Sargodha District, Punjab, Pakistan. The tremor was recorded in the afternoon on Wednesday 9 June 2021 at 4:35 pm local time, at a great depth of 310.9 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Sargodha (pop. 542,600, 16 km away), Kot Mumin (pop. 38,400, 24 km away), Lalian (pop. 31,400, 25 km away), Bhalwal (pop. 74,700, 25 km away), Chenab Nagar (pop. 70,000, 33 km away), Chinot (pop. 201,800, 39 km away), Khushāb (pop. 102,800, 53 km away), and Faisalabad (pop. 2,506,600, 74 km away), the quake was probably not felt.

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.2 quake in Indonesia near Ambon City, Maluku, only 11 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Wednesday 9 June 2021 at 5:19 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km.
