Moderate magnitude 4.4 quake hits 50 km northwest of Melchor Ocampo del Balsas, Mexico early evening

Just 19 minutes ago, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Melchor Ocampo del Balsas, Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacan, Mexico. The tremor was recorded early evening on Thursday 29 July 2021 at 6:04 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 127 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Arteaga (pop. 10,500) located 8 km from the epicenter, Tumbiscatio de Ruiz (pop. 2,800) 14 km away, La Mira Tumbiscatio (pop. 14,500) 32 km away, Buenos Aires (pop. 9,900) 42 km away, Guacamayas (pop. 38,000) 45 km away, La Orilla (pop. 20,100) 47 km away, Melchor Ocampo del Balsas (pop. 79,200) 50 km away, and Nueva Italia de Ruiz (pop. 32,500) 75 km away.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in Taiwan near Hualien City, Hualien, Taiwan, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Friday 30 July 2021 at 6:55 am local time at a very shallow depth of 5 km.
