Moderate magnitude 4.0 quake hits 94 km southeast of Sendai, Japan early morning

An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred only 11 minutes ago 94 km southeast of Sendai, Japan, Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) reported.
The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 55.9 km beneath the epicenter near Sendai, Sendai Shi, Honshu-miyagi-ken, Japan, early morning on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, at 2:19 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.0 earthquake as well.
