Moderate 4.8 quake hits near Ishqoshim, Ishkoshim, Gorno-Badakhshan, Tajikistan

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 4.8 quake in Afghanistan near Ishqoshim, Ishkoshim, Gorno-Badakhshan, only 13 minutes ago. The earthquake hit late at night on Thursday, August 4th, 2022, at 11:08 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 98 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
