- The dogs in our area started barking approximately 2 minutes before the shaking, based on the reports, they started barking right when the earthquake first struck. I noticed it and gave it a laugh because they always bark at the most inconvenient times but when the bed shook, I realized why they were barking. They stopped shortly after the shaking happened.
