Just 11 minutes ago, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck near Zagreb, HR.21.3186885, City of Zagreb, Croatia. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022, at 11:52 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), which listed it as a magnitude 3.7 earthquake. Other agencies reporting the same quake include Hungary's Seismological Observatory (Hungarian National Seismological Network) at magnitude 3.9, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 3.9, and the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) at magnitude 3.9.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Glinska Poljana (pop. 120) located 1 km from the epicenter, Petrinja (pop. 15,700) 10 km away, and Glina (pop. 4,700) 11 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Sisak (pop. 35,700) located 18 km from the epicenter, Velika Gorica (pop. 31,600) 33 km away, Velika Kladusa (pop. 19,300) 38 km away, Popovača (pop. 12,000) 40 km away, Sesvete (pop. 52,400) 46 km away, Zagreb (pop. 699,000) 46 km away, and Stenjevec (pop. 41,300) 48 km away.
