The volcano remains restless. A diffuse plume with light ash content is rising most of the time from the summit crater.

Since mid June, an increase in internal activity has been recorded at the volcano. The Geophysical Institute of Peru reported a swarm of shallow earthquakes in an area at 6 km depth approx. 7 km north of the volcano's summit. In addition, increased degassing has been observed.
