The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recorded at the Minamidake summit crater 15 eruptions and 12 explosions
detected by the seismic network and 49 volcanic earthquakes and 27 tremors
associated with the eruptions during the period 24-27 January 2020.
Blocks were ejected as far as 1 km away from Showa crater.
An ash plume rose 7,217 ft (2,200 m)
above the summit crater.
The volcano has a large amount of volcanic gas (sulfur dioxide).
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 2 km distance from the crater.Source: Japan Meteorological Agency volcano activity update 29 January 2020

Latest quakes in Greece
: Greece has a lot of earthquake activity, but most of them occur around the margin of the Aegean microplate. The Cycladic islands are located in its center and therefore seismically comparably quiet.

Volcanic crisis at Sakurajima - updates
: A strong earthquake swarm and increased inflation were detected in August 2015 and triggered authorities to raise the alert level, as volcanologists think that a larger eruption could follow. News and updates on the events can be found on this page.
