San Miguel volcano (El Salvador): weekly volcanic activity report 19-25 Feb 2020

The Servicio Nacional de Estudios Territoriales (SNET) reported that locals observed a series of noises during 20 February at 19:00 local time to 21 February at 07:50 local time.

On 22 February at 10:55 local time recorded an ash and gas plume that rose 1,312 ft (400 m) above the crater rim.
The seismic station records increase activity of microearthquakes. Low-amplitude tremor increased after a quiet period of approx. 11 hours and were associated with gas emissions.
510 emissions of gas and steam plumes occurred. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions have increased.
Ashfall was reported in several areas downwind including Piedra Azul (5 km SW).
