Activity continues at least intermittently. An ash plume at estimated 9,000 ft (2.7 km) altitude was observed Friday extending almost 100 km to the NW (VAAC Darwin).

After the violent eruption on Saturday, a strong initial explosion followed by at least 3 other, but smaller explosions and ash emissions until yesterday, activity at the volcano has calmed down significantly.
