Santiaguito volcano (Guatemala) activity update: occasional weak explosions

INSIVUMEH recorded a white fumarole in Caliente dome that rose 9,842 ft (3,000 m) above the summit.

The seismic station detected weak explosions that generated a dark ash plume which reached approx. 10,500 ft (3,200 m) above the summit and drifted SW.
Material is ejected above the crater and caused weak avalanches of material on the south and southeast flanks of the Caliente dome.

INSIVUMEH report continued degassing plume expulsion reaching heights of around 3300 m.a.s.l. that drifted southwest over the villages of Loma Linda and San Marcos Palajunoj.
