Strong degassing from the Caliente lava dome, occasional small explosions (one was reported this morning with a gray ash plume 600 m tall), and a slowly advancing viscous lava flow in the 6 May collapse scar characterize the volcano's activity.

The new lava flow on the eastern flank of the Caliente dome continues to advance slowly and produce avalanches. Small explosions occurred, generating ash plumes up to 700 m high. Rainfalls caused a medium-sized lahar in the Nima I river yesterday at dawn. ... read all
