Semeru volcano (East Java, Indonesia): continuing lava flows

Effusive-explosive eruption of the volcano continues.

A satellite image from 29 July shows that lava flows continue to be active on the south and southeast slopes of the volcano.
Incandescent material is being ejected above Seloko Jongring crater and caused avalanches of material.
Ash plumes reached 14,000 ft (4,300 m) altitude and drifted SW.
The seismic station records 50 volcano-tectonic earthquakes.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 1 km distance from the main crater and 4 km on the SSE flank.
