Semisopochnoi volcano (Aleutian Islands): sporadic ash eruptions continue

Explosion at Semisopochnoi volcano yesterday (image: AVO)
Ash emissions reached 5,000 ft (1,500 m) altitude and extended about 100 km to the northeast of the volcano.
The seismic activity remains elevated.
