Shishaldin volcano (Alaska, USA) activity update: low-level eruptive activity with periodic bursts of lava

Alaska Volcano Observatory recorded low-level eruptive activity with periodic bursts of lava within the summit crater of Shishaldin and a small steam plume over the past day.

There were some elevated surface temperatures observed through clouds in satellite data. Seismicity and infrasound signals continued consistent with low-level eruptive activity with wind noise.
There has been no evidence of any significant ash-bearing volcanic plumes over the past day.

Pilot and local observations as well as webcam views all indicated that the incandescence at Shishaldin's summit crater was from low-level Strombolian activity during 21-22 October.
