Shishaldin Volcano continues to erupt episodically. USGS AVO report that seismic levels were variable throughout the week, with elevated activity early in the week and over the past 36 hours. This was accompanied by strongly elevated surface temperatures suggesting renewed lava effusion. Persistent clouds have obscured observations of eruptive activity in the web cameras. [more]

USGS AVO reports that Shishaldin Volcano has been in an eruptive hiatus over the past several days, with low seismic tremor and only weakly elevated surface temperatures, consistent with cooling lava flows. No anomalous activity has been observed in AVO’s satellite and webcam data, and no ash plumes have been detected. [more]
