Shishaldin volcano (Aleutian Islands, Alaska): seismicity has decreased; the aviation color code has lowered to yellow

The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) reported that seismicity at the volcano has decreased over the past week. In addition, AVO recorded decreased surface temperatures in the summit crater identified in satellite data.
Eruptive activity continues to be pause due to a decreasing activity.
The Aviation Color Code has lowered to yellow.

AVO report that no significant eruptive activity has occurred over the past 24 hours at Shishaldin volcano, however, seismicity remains above background levels. Weakly elevated surface temperatures were observed in satellite data. It remains possible for unrest to escalate at any time with little warning, and additional lava flows, lahars, and ash-producing eruptive events may occur. ... read all
