Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 15000 ft (4600 m) altitude or flight level 150 and is moving at 10 kts in NE direction.

Yury Demianchuk from the volcanological observatory in Klyuchi reported a few days ago that visual observations on 12 March 2020 confirmed new dome growth from the active lava dome. The actively growing area was located in the right (northern) part of the extrusive dome and had not been observed during the previous months. It now appeared reaching over the edge of the explosive crater, forming a "dome on top of a dome". ... [more]
