Sheveluch volcano (Central Kamchatka, Russia) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 8 March-14 March 2023 (Continuing Activity)
Wed, 15 Mar 2023, 15:00 15:00 PM | BY: VNKVERT reported that the ongoing eruption at Sheveluch was generally characterized by explosions, hot avalanches, lava-dome extrusion, and strong fumarolic activity. A daily thermal anomaly was identified in satellite images during 2-9 March and ash plumes drifted as far as 118 km E during 4-5 March. The Aviation Color Code remained at Orange (the second highest level on a four-color scale).
