Shiveluch volcano, Kamchatka: pyroclastic flows by partial dome collapse generate ash plumes of 6-7 km altitudeSunday Nov 03, 2013 10:29 AM | BY: T  First of the two pyroclastic flows yesterday at Shiveluch  Second of the two pyroclastic flows yesterday at Shiveluch Extrusion of viscous lava at the dome continues to feed at least 2 thick lava flows on the SW, NW and NE slopes. Two larger partial dome collapses occurred yesterday, producing pyroclastic flows and ash plumes that rose to altitudes of 23,000 ft (7 km).

Dome growth has gained speed again, producing more frequent avalanches as well as explosions. Tuesday, Oct 15, 2013 The lava dome has become more active again, and frequently produces small incandescent avalanches. Strong degassing and occasional ash venting accompany this process. A weak ash plume rose today from the volcano to an altitude of about 12,000 ft, as can be seen on the following video: ... [more]
Sunday, Oct 13, 2013 KVERT reports that the "growth of the lava dome continues - strong and moderate ash explosions up to 4-6 km a.s.l., fumarolic activity and incandescence of the dome summit, and hot avalanches accompany this process. Satellite data showed a thermal anomaly over the volcano." [more]
