Sinabung volcano (Sumatra, Indonesia): strong vulcanian activity continues

Elevated activity of the volcano continues characterized by strong vulcanian-type explosions which become near-continuous.

Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Darwin (VAAC) recorded strong ash emissions generated by explosion occurred at 10:30 local time this morning.
An ash plume rose 6,889 ft (2,100 m) above the summit.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 3 km distance from the main crater and 5 km on the SE flank and 4 km on the NE flank.
