An explosion at the volcano, starting around 09:25 local time today, produced a dense grey ash plume that rose 1,600 ft (500 m) above the summit and drifted E-SE. It seems to be generated pyroclastic flows judging from webcam imagery, but they were not reported and confirmed by the local observatory.
The seismic station recorded 34 volcano-tectonic earthquakes yesterday.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 3 km distance from the main crater and 5 km on the SE flank and 4 km on the NE flank.
