Sinabung volcano (Sumatra): eruption news and activity updates

Sinabung volcano (Sumatra, Indonesia): lava dome largely destroyed by recent pyroclastic flows

According to our friend filmmaker Michael Dalton who's been on location, the youngest lava dome and its lobe "are gone".
The series of collapses which generated the impressively many small to moderate pyroclastic flows earlier this week has apparently removed most or all of the unstable portions of the viscous lava masses that had accumulated. Depending on the volcano's effusion rate, generally low, it might take a while until a new dome is "ready" to spill over the crater rim again.
