Slamet volcano (Central Java, Indonesia): Volcanic Alert Level lowered to Level 1

PVMBG reported that Volcanic Alert Level lowered from Level 2 to Level 1 on 9 October.
The last and elevated volcanic activity of the volcano occurred on 9 August 2019 as increased seismic activity was detected.
The seismic activity continues at fluctuating levels but is decreasing in general, as can be seen in the image.

PVMBG has raised the alert level to 2 due to a two month sustained increase in seismicity (over 50,000 earthquakes!) and, in the last few weeks, inflation, gas emissions (with steam plumes rising 300m above the crater), rising hot spring temperatures and emergence of seismic tremor.
