The lava flow from yesterday is no longer active at the moment. As initially suspected, it was an overflow from the NE crater, not from a new flank vent. The explosive strombolian summit activity is continuing. The Civil Protection has temporarily closed access to the summit.

A new lava flow eruption at Stromboli volcano has started today. The webcam of INGV suggests that the vent is the NE crater which seems to have overflowed and is feeding a flow down over the 2003 lava plateau and the Sciara del Fuoco and has reached the sea already. ... [more]

A lava flow is active from the SE vent of Stromboli volcano. The lava flow is confined to the crater terrace, but indicates very high levels of magma inside the conduit. [more]

Following the strong explosions on 30 June that prompted the Italian Civil Protection to close the summit for visitors, the activity at Stromboli volcano has been normal the past days. The closure to the summit area remains, and visitors are only allowed to go up to the 400 m viewpoint. The regular excursions to the summit are suspended for now. ... [more]

A series of strong eruptions took place at the summit craters of Stromboli between 16h33 and 16h35 local time on 30 June, the strongest at 16h35. The access to the summit has been closed. [more]
