The activity at the volcano remains elevated with strong strombolian explosions from several vents.
Earlier today, starting around 12:35 local time, a new lava overflow began descending on the upper Sciara del Fuoco, originating from the northern vents of the crater terrace.
At the same time, lava continues overflowing from the central-southern crater area.

A lava flow is active on the western Sciara del Fuoco and according www.weathersicily.it reached the sea yesterday evening. However, as of today, while it is still active, its effusion rate seems to have decreased and probably no longer reaches the shore. read all
