The level of activity remains very high at the volcano. Strong and frequent strombolian-type eruptions occur from several vents, most notably from the northeastern and south-central vents.
Strong thermal signals from the vent areas indicate that the magma column remains standing very high. Also, small lava overflows continue to occur, mostly from the collapsed area at the southwestern rims of the crater terrace. They are active on the upper southern part of the Sciara del Fuoco.
