The activity of the volcano has increased during the past days and is classified as "high", with very frequent and often strong strombolian explosions from several vents.
Data analysis shows that some explosions are accompanied by strong acoustic pressure waves (up to 4 bar) and send lava bombs flying with initial exit speed of 47 m/s. Seismic activity includes so-called long period events reflecting internal magma movements.
