Stromboli volcano (Eolian Islands, Italy): activity decreases to medium levels

The activity of the volcano has dropped during the past 2 days, at least judging from the frequency and intensity of strombolian explosions, which were much lower than during most of the previous months.

Strombolian activity was characterized by low pressure and came mainly from the NE crater vent, while puffing and degassing prevails at the SW and central vents.
Other parameters monitored classify the activity as medium. Tremor amplitude was stable, while seismic activity of so-called long-period quakes remained high.
