Suwanosejima volcano (Ryukyu Islands, Japan): second explosion this month

Explosion from Suwanosejima volcano yesterday (image: JMA)
According to Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) an explosion occurred from Mitake summit crater at 11:53 local time yesterday.
Ash plumes reached 7,000 ft (2,133 m)
altitude and drifted NE.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 1 km distance from the main crater.Source: Japan Meteorological Agency volcano activity update 13 July 2020
