Suwanosejima volcano (Ryukyu Islands, Japan) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 25 May-31 May 2022 (Continuing Activity)
JMA reported that 33 explosions were recorded at Suwanosejima's Ontake Crater during 23-30 May. Eruption plumes rose as high as 1.9 km above the crater rim and material was ejected 500 m above the vent. Crater incandescence was visible at night.

Ash fell in Toshima village (3.5 km SSW) during 23-27 May. The Alert Level remained at 3 and the public was warned to stay 2 km away from the crater.
