Eruption at Suwanosejima volcano this morning
A new explosion occurred at the volcano minutes ago. An ash plume rising several 100 meters from the active crater can be seen on webcam images.

Explosions have become less frequent, but still occur from time to time. This morning, an ash plume from an eruption could be seen on the webcam. VAAC Tokyo estimated the height of the ash plume that drifted SSE at approx 3 km altitude. [more]
