Suwanosejima volcano (Tokara Islands, Japan): new eruption reported

Tokyo VAAC reported a small eruption this morning, producing an ash plume to 6,000 ft (1.8 km) altitude.
At least intermittently, the volcano continues to produce strombolian explosions of varying intensity.
