Suwanose-jima volcano (Tokara Islands, Japan): lava glow suggests strombolian activity

Bright glow can be seen from the crater area during night time, indicating that it is currently erupting. Most likely, this activity consists of intermittent, mild strombolian explosions from the Ontake crater.
