Tanaga volcano (Aleutian Islands, USA): alert level decreased to "yellow"

The seismic crisis near the volcano has waned significantly both in magnitude and rate from the swarm peak during 9-11 March.

This change lowered the potential for the impending eruption of the volcano.
Therefore, the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) decreased the Volcanic Alert Level to "Yellow".

AVO reported that earthquake activity near Tanaga began to increase on 4 March with events up to the M2 range and located 9-18 km deep. Seismicity again increased around 1330 on 7 March and by 2045 earthquakes were occurring at a rate of 2-3 per minute.
