Tolbachik volcano: eruption updates & news
Tolbachik volcano (Kamchatka) activity update
Monday Jun 10, 2013 14:28 PM | BY: T
No significant changes have occurred in the ongoing eruption. Seismic tremor remains stable and suggests that lava flows continue to erupt from the southern fissure.
Wednesday, Jun 05, 2013
Activity continues with little changes, although the slow trend of decreasing seismic activity persists. A small lava lake 20 m across and weak strombolian activity were recently observed by Russian volcanologists who visited the site. Lava flows continue to be alimented and spread mainly to the SE.
Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Eruptive activity continues, with fluid lava flows from the southern fissure being still emitted. However, also a very slow trend of decreasing tremor is visible. ...
Sunday, May 19, 2013
According to the latest KVERT report, the eruption has gained again in strength. Tremor levels have risen and lava continues to effuse from the southern fissure vent, feeding a broad lava flow field.
Monday, May 13, 2013
Although tremor continues to decrease very slowly, KVERT reports that fluid lava is still being erupted from the vent on the southern fissure. MODIS satellite data still show a large hot spot, confirming that the eruption might be longer lasting than thought.
Wednesday, May 01, 2013
KVER reports no change in the ongoing eruption of the volcano and ongoing high tremor values at levels similar to the past weeks. Recent field reports however suggest that the eruption continues its slowly declining trend and might actually be ending soon. ...
