Although believed to have more or less stopped a week ago, it seems that weak eruptive has continued and regained some strength again now. Weak tremor has reappeared and incandescence could be seen again at the active vent at Tolbachinsky Dol at night. Tourists could observe strombolian activity and effusion of lava into the tube system on 30 August. ... read all

The eruption seems to be coming to an end. Seismic activity dropped from still moderately high levels (2.4 mcm/s) to very low (0.12 mcm/s) on 24 Aug, and the effusion of lava has stopped. No incandescence was spotted in the area of the vent during the past days. The Aviation Color Code was lowered to yellow. ... read all

KVERT reports continuing lava effusion, but the slowly decreasing trend of tremor (2.1 mcm/s today) suggests that an end of the eruption is (slowly) approaching. ... read all
